Morning: Her

You were there, in the morning I could feel your arms around me, I could hear the gentle sound of your breath and the soft tickle of your hair on my face. You were there, I knew it, but I didn’t open my eyes, just in case. Just in case this dream was only that; a dream.

But dawn became day, and I could see the light even if I closed my eyes as tight as I could. So I opened them, slowly, and there you were; you took a deep breath, opened your eyes, looked at me and smiled.

In that moment I knew that making you smile was now the most important part of my life, that your happiness was paramount to my own, and that the two were mutually exclusive; one not being able to exist without the other.

As it was, it is now, and will be forever.
